This September, the City of Hvar will host another edition of the Hvar Film Festival, its second in a row. After being warmly welcomed by both the audience and the film industry at its inaugural edition, the organizers stated that this was more than enough encouragement for this festival and cultural initiative to continue its journey in the City of Hvar.
This year’s edition will last five days, from September 10 to 14, taking place at two venues, with a daytime program dedicated to the film industry and evening screenings for the public at Veneranda.
The 2nd Hvar Film Festival will present 16 short films, screened in three competition slots as part of the Veneranda summer cinema program, every evening at 8:30 PM. Admission will be free, and tickets will be available online via Entrio.hr or at the festival box office located at the Hvar Tourist Board Office.
Once again, the Festival will host film professionals as part of the Sunny Shorts Film Market, with programs designed for producers and directors, as well as a special Actor’s Hub program that will bring together five carefully selected actors and actresses. They will participate in professional workshops, masterclasses, and other activities in the City of Hvar.
The Hvar Film Festival remains dedicated to the development and promotion of short films from Croatia and across Europe. This commitment is further reinforced by the Festival’s plan to present its finalized concept for an industry-focused film program, which, according to the Festival’s development strategy, will in the coming years become a central hub for short film development.
